Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cong Mao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dwight Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grant has chosen Beanie (Mack B****) as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dwight Grant!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, David Schapiro and Steve Montenegro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grant fails with a takedown attempt.
Mao cracks Grant with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Mao closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Grant to the mat! Grant manages to get full guard.
Grant trying to keep a closed guard but Mao is proving a slippery customer.
Mao scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Mao controls from within his opponent's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mao accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Grant looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mao is one step ahead there.

Grant is pulling down on Mao's head. It's preventing any offense from Mao, at least for the moment.

Grant manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mao manages to get himself to full guard.
Mao can't keep his opponent in guard - Grant advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Mao is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Grant wants to free his trapped foot but Mao is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Mao tries to roll over but Grant keeps him under control.

Grant is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mao is just riding it out for now. Grant eventually gives up the hold.
Mao knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Grant on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Grant stops Mao from getting back to his feet.
Mao on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mao tries to get out of the position.
Grant looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Mao is not content to let Grant control the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Mao bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Mao wants to control but Grant is keeping him busy.
Grant parries the strikes from Mao easily there. Mao is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Grant to escape.
Mao connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Grant some visible discomfort.

Grant is rocked!
Mao in side control lands a decent elbow.
Grant is still in real trouble! Can Mao finish him?
Mao lands a strong strike to the head of Grant. That's dazed him! Mao looking to finish here. Grant is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Mao lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
