Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ethan Clayton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Motive (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clayton's entrance music is I Want It All. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ethan Clayton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bobby Motive!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Motive moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Motive lands a jab to Clayton's midsection.
Motive throws a quick inside leg kick.
Motive stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Clayton.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Clayton throws a leg kick but Motive moved away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Motive enables Clayton to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Motive manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Motive pulls Clayton in close to his closed guard and prevents Clayton from doing any damage or advancing position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Motive preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Clayton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Clayton connects with a couple of short punches.
Clayton trying to control but Motive is working from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Clayton accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Motive seems keen to control Clayton's posture.
Clayton throws a strike but Motive rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Clayton looking for a sweep. Not yet Clayton, not yet.
Motive must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Clayton has his foot on Motive's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Motive works his way back into a safe position though.

Motive gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Clayton tries to score a power double leg takedown but Motive sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Clayton somewhat.
Clayton looks to land a left hand but Motive moved out of range nicely.
Bobby Motive is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Clayton throws a body kick that misses.
Motive lands with a cross.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A big left from Motive misses.
Motive throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Motive dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Clayton is breathing heavily.
Clayton on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.


It looks like Ethan Clayton has been cut.
Ethan Clayton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Clayton takes a swing at Motive's ribcage but misses.
Clayton is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Motive.
A jab from Motive finds it's way through Clayton's defenses.
Motive thuds a left hand into Clayton's body.

Motive lands a left and a right that send Clayton crashing to the mat, dazed. Motive thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Clayton is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Clayton has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Motive.
Oh Clayton is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Clayton leaves his chin hanging out and Motive seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Clayton crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bobby Motive!
Our winner, Bobby Motive, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
