Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luther Heggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Cowell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cowell fails with the takedown.

Cowell working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Heggs doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Heggs manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Cowell is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Heggs defends well.

The referee asks Heggs politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Heggs prefers to stall for the moment though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cowell is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Heggs pulls his head out easily.

Cowell is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Cowell changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Heggs tries to avoid it but Cowell manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Heggs to the ground. Heggs escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cowell shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Heggs as he jumps to the side.
Heggs tries to clinch but Cowell moves out of range.
Cowell shoots in but no luck this time.
Luther Heggs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anderson Cowell.
Cowell tries for a takedown but Heggs sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Nice sprawl there from Heggs as Cowell shoots in.
Cowell motions for Heggs to come forward. Cowell throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Cowell shoots for a double leg takedown but Heggs sprawls well. He's pushed Cowell's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Heggs escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Heggs clinches up with Cowell and pushes him back against the cage.

Heggs lands a hook to the side of the head.
Heggs works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Cowell tries for a takedown but Heggs circles away easily

and Heggs counters with a crisp right hand that drops Cowell! Heggs lets Cowell back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Cowell is rocked!

Cowell gets tackled into the cage by Heggs. Heggs maintains the clinch.
Cowell tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Heggs smiles and moves away.
Heggs digs a good hook to Cowell's body.
Heggs keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Cowell is still on wobbly legs! Can Heggs finish him?
Heggs is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Cowell flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Cowell is out cold! Heggs holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

After winning the bout, Luther Heggs thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
