Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yoshida Kotaro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ralph Waldo Emerson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kotaro comes to the cage accompanied by Dance Yourself Clean. Emerson has chosen Welcome to the TerrorDome as his entrance music. Yoshida Kotaro has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ralph Waldo Emerson!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Matheus Silva and Felipe Paraventi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emerson connects with a looping right hand.
Emerson leaves Kotaro with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Kotaro shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kotaro showed some decent athleticism there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Kotaro stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Emerson to get to his feet.
Emerson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kotaro was well out of range. Poor timing from Emerson.
Emerson just misses with a punch to the body.
Emerson keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Kotaro tries for a takedown but Emerson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kotaro shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yoshida Kotaro. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Emerson takes a swing at Kotaro's ribcage but misses.
Emerson throws a lazy right hand but Kotaro sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Emerson lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

It looks like Yoshida Kotaro has been cut.
Kotaro misses with a takedown
and Emerson counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Kotaro shoots in for a takedown but Emerson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Emerson connects with a single shot there.
Emerson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kotaro tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A swing and a miss from Emerson.
Kotaro dives in and grabs Emerson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Emerson pushes down on Kotaro's head and hops out.
Kotaro tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Emerson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A head kick misses from Kotaro.
Kotaro looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Emerson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Emerson pivots, looking for a leg kick but Kotaro is out of range and Emerson settles back down.
Emerson throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Ralph Waldo Emerson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kotaro tries to clinch up.
Kotaro moves into range and connects with a jab.
Emerson clobbers Kotaro with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Emerson gets in close and tags Kotaro with a short punch that almost sends Kotaro to the mat! Oh Kotaro is in big trouble! He turns his back on Emerson, trying to create some distance but Emerson rushes him, striking wildly and Kotaro goes down! The referee tackles Emerson into the cage to end the fight! Emerson is one violent man!
