PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Leis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and RIck Brandford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leis comes to the cage accompanied by No Sleep - Wiz Khalifa. RIck Brandford will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Leis shoots in and gets a takedown into Brandford's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Brandford can do anything to dispel that myth.
Leis is looking to work some ground and pound but Brandford has wrist control.

Leis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Leis is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Brandford is bucking up trying to escape but Leis cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Brandford swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Leis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Brandford defends it nicely.

Leis shoots in for a takedown but Brandford shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Crunch! Brandford slams his shin into Leis's torso.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jesse Leis.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Leis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
