The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
VonFoster dives in and grabs Axelsson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Axelsson pushes down on VonFoster's head and hops out.

Axelsson shoots in and bounces VonFoster off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Axelsson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Axelsson works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Axelsson is working for a kimura but VonFoster is defending it quite comfortably.
VonFoster is looking to control Axelsson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can VonFoster avoid being mounted?
Axelsson is keen to just control but VonFoster is a slippery customer.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

VonFoster is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Axelsson is controlling him.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Axelsson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed VonFoster's guard.

VonFoster is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.

Axelsson wants the takedown. VonFoster is fighting it off but Axelsson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in VonFoster's guard against the ropes.

Axelsson throws his legs up looking for a submission but VonFoster uses it to pass to side control.

Axelsson is trying to control VonFoster's posture but VonFoster avoids it.

VonFoster tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Axelsson manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
VonFoster wants to improve his position but Axelsson is controlling well.

Axelsson sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Axelsson wants to take his opponent's back but VonFoster doesn't allow it.

VonFoster is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Axelsson locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! VonFoster is forced to tap!
