Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, William Sims!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John The Butcher!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, John Mangel and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Butcher lands a jab-cross combination.
Sims throws a lazy right hand but The Butcher sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Sims keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
The Butcher keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
The Butcher lands a slapping body shot.
Sims misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from The Butcher.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
A short right from Sims on the inside.
Sims tries for a takedown but The Butcher manages to get underhooks.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sims is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables The Butcher to keep the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for William Sims. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sims pushes The Butcher back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Sims breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sims blocks a jab.
The Butcher displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Sims misses with a straight left.

Sims tests The Butcher's chin there with a solid looking shot.
The Butcher scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Sims throws a combination. The Butcher tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Sims waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract The Butcher.
The Butcher lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sims circles away quickly and effectively.
Sims tries to score a power double leg takedown but The Butcher sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sims somewhat.
Nice combo by The Butcher! Oh, that's hurt him - Sims falls to the canvas and The Butcher follows him into side control.
Sims is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The Butcher stands up.
Oh Sims is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The Butcher lands with a big right hook that stumbles Sims - he's out on his feet here! The Butcher follows up with another monster hook that separates Sims from consciousness! Sims falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! The Butcher stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). John The Butcher!
