PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sadoa Miyake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Munoz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miyake comes to the cage accompanied by The Pirate's Song. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Munoz!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miyake wants to clinch but Munoz slips to the side
and Munoz counters with a right hand to the body.
Miyake tries to clinch up but Munoz circles away and keeps his distance.

Miyake closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Miyake tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Miyake tries to land knees in the clinch but Munoz avoids the damage to the body.
Munoz drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Miyake is trying to break the clinch but Munoz has him pressed against the cage.
Miyake wants a takedown but no success here.

Munoz manages to break the clinch.
Miyake tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Munoz paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Miyake wants to clinch.
Munoz fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Munoz is looking to land body kicks.
Miyake moves to clinch but Munoz breaks away
and Munoz counters with a low kick, right behind Miyake 's knee.
Miyake tries to clinch but Munoz is having none of it.
Miyake doesn't manage to clinch there - Munoz circles away.
Miyake fails with a takedown attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Miyake is defended easily by Munoz.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sadoa Miyake. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Miyake throws a leg kick
and Miyake takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Miyake is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Sadoa Miyake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Munoz shoots in for a takedown but Miyake shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Munoz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Miyake darts in and clinches Munoz up against the cage.

Munoz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Miyake fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Munoz checks it well.
Miyake blocks a head kick by Munoz.
Munoz misses the shot to the body.

Miyake throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Munoz was covering up waiting for the punch and Miyake finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Miyake sitting in guard here, content to control.
Miyake is pushing down on Munoz's leg trying to pass to half guard. Munoz is fighting to maintain full guard but Miyake has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Munoz looks gassed!

Miyake is controlling the pace.

Sadoa Miyake has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Munoz stuffs the takedown attempt from Miyake. Miyake gets slowly back to his feet.

Munoz has closed the distance and engaged Miyake in a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Miyake has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Munoz uses from the top position.
Munoz wants to pass the guard but Miyake is keeping the position.
Munoz wants to control from the top but Miyake keeps moving.

Miyake has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Munoz should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Miyake has tightened it up now! Munoz should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
