Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Takeshita Otsuma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiroshi Nakamura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takeshita Otsuma!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiroshi Nakamura!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Otsuma will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nakamura shoots for a double leg takedown but Otsuma sprawls well. He's pushed Nakamura's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Nakamura has a takedown stuffed.

Otsuma gets caught napping as Nakamura dives in and scores a takedown. Otsuma manages to retain guard.
Otsuma can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nakamura controls the pace.

Otsuma is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Nakamura is controlling him.
Nakamura is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Otsuma will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Nakamura wanted to stand there but Otsuma had control of the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Hiroshi Nakamura hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Otsuma tries to clinch up.
Otsuma really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Nakamura avoids the head kick by Otsuma.

Nakamura controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Nakamura wants to pass the guard but Otsuma is keeping the position.

Nakamura wants to stand but Otsuma has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Otsuma is breathing heavily.

Nakamura avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Otsuma has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nakamura can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Nakamura got a little sloppy there for a moment and Otsuma has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nakamura has managed to get both his arms back between Otsuma's legs - danger averted.
Nakamura wants to get up but he can't break Otsuma's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Otsuma is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Nakamura thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Nakamura connects with a couple of short punches.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Otsuma can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nakamura controls the pace.

Otsuma had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nakamura defends it easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Nakamura postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Nakamura throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Otsuma looks for a takedown but Nakamura sprawls well.

Nakamura is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Otsuma's half guard.

Nakamura looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Otsuma is looking to escape.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Nakamura seems to be looking for submissions.
Nakamura really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Otsuma. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Nakamura is looking to advance position but Otsuma won't allow it.
Otsuma tries to get to full guard but Nakamura has control of the leg.

Nakamura looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

It looks like Nakamura is going to stand back up.

Nakamura is working for a submission of some sort.
Otsuma has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nakamura is working away from the top position though.

Otsuma trying to hold on to Nakamura's head to control him but Nakamura postures up.
Otsuma is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Nakamura is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Hiroshi Nakamura has got the better of the ground game so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Takeshita Otsuma just wasn't active enough.
Otsuma gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Nakamura counters with a takedown into side control.
Otsuma is not content to let Nakamura control the position.
You can see the frustration on Otsuma's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Nakamura tries for a kimura but Otsuma is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hiroshi Nakamura showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Nakamura shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Nakamura was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Otsuma really wants to buck Nakamura off and get back to his feet.
Otsuma tries to hold on but Nakamura postures up.

Nakamura looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Nakamura can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Otsuma is looking to escape.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Otsuma tries to lock up and control but Nakamura gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Otsuma is looking to improve his position but Nakamura isn't that keen on the idea.
Otsuma wants to hold on but Nakamura pushes him away.

Nakamura is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Otsuma to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Otsuma shrugs it off.
Nakamura wants to get back to his feet but Otsuma is holding on tight.

Nakamura cracks Otsuma with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Otsuma is working hard here to advance position.
Nakamura is looking to stand but Nakamura has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.

Otsuma is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Otsuma is trying desperately to improve position.

Nakamura is standing up, even though he is in mount.

Nakamura shoots in and gets a takedown into Otsuma's guard.

Hiroshi Nakamura comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Nakamura has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
