Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Tortuga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Vai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tommy Tortuga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Vai!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tortuga fails with the takedown.
Vai fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tortuga avoids it really well and circles away.

and Tortuga counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vai can do anything to dispel that myth.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Vai is stalling here. Tortuga is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Vai seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Tortuga has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Vai has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Joe Vai showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Joe Vai comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Vai has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
