Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nick Markakis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Pepper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Markakis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Pepper!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pepper misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Pepper throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Pepper misses with a straight left.
Pepper scores with a hook.
Pepper works over Markakis's head and body with a nice combination.

Markakis looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Pepper!
Markakis throwing strikes here but Pepper is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Markakis tries to control but Pepper wriggling away.
Markakis throws some wild stikes that Pepper manages to avoid easily.

Markakis is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Pepper to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Pepper shrugs it off.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pepper is looking to improve his position but Markakis isn't that keen on the idea.

Markakis with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Markakis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Markakis is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Pepper is surviving well by controlling Markakis's body position as best he can.

Markakis jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Pepper is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Pepper and Markakis has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Markakis tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Pepper is trying to get back to half guard.
Pepper tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Markakis cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Markakis seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Pepper is holding on tight.
Pepper is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Pepper really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
BOOM! Markakis connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Markakis thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Markakis tries to control but Pepper wriggling away.

Markakis get's back to his feet.
Pepper throws a wild body kick that Markakis sees coming a mile off.
Markakis tries to move into range but Pepper moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
A jab from Pepper does it's job there.

Pepper swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Pepper is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Markakis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pepper pinned against the cage. Pepper gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Pepper lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Markakis backs up against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Markakis counters with a single leg into guard. Pepper didn't expect that.
Markakis trying to control the position from guard on top but Pepper is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Markakis gets to his feet. Pepper looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Markakis looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Pepper stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Markakis swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Pepper wants to get up but he can't break Markakis's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Markakis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pepper can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Pepper must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Pepper stands up and waves to Markakis to follow him.

Pepper feints and as Markakis raises his hands in defense, Pepper changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Markakis throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Pepper stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Markakis swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Markakis is looking for a triangle but Pepper pushes his legs off easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Pepper has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Markakis is proving hard to escape from.

Pepper gets to his feet. Markakis looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Markakis.
Peter Pepper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pepper has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Pepper gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Markakis.

Pepper is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Pepper gets through Markakis's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Peter Pepper comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Markakis has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
