Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Sparks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yushi Takahashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sparks comes into the arena with LIGHTERS blaring out of the sound system. Ricky Sparks could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Yushi Takahashi's chin.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takahashi gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sparks to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Takahashi throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Takahashi is trying to keep Sparks in close.
Sparks stays in close to Takahashi's body and controls the position.
Takahashi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Sparks shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sparks showed some decent athleticism there.

Sparks wants to lay and pray for a moment but Takahashi keeps working.
Sparks wants to pass to mount but Takahashi is defending the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Takahashi gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Sparks is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Takahashi goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Sparks!
