Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Atraeu Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nelson comes to the cage accompanied by Sail by AWOL Nation. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson works Cruz's body with a nice hook.
Cruz looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Cruz misses with a takedown

and Nelson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Nelson pushes Cruz back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Nelson tightens his grip and picks Cruz up, before dumping him to the ground. Cruz manages to land in guard.
Nelson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Cruz's guard.
Nelson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Cruz knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Still in half guard, Nelson seems content to control.
Nelson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cruz keeps working.
Cruz wants to get back to full guard.

Nelson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Nelson slows the pace down in half guard.

Nelson is looking for a kimura but Cruz is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Nelson to get the leverage.
Cruz on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Nelson is trying to control. Cruz wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nelson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Nelson looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Nelson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Cruz can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nelson moves to the back position.

Cruz defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Nelson's arms.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Nelson is looking for the choke from the back position but Cruz is controlling his hands well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Atraeu Nelson dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Nelson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cruz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Nelson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cruz keeps working.
Nelson is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Cruz will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Cruz is working to avoid the ground and pound but Nelson connects with a decent elbow.

Nelson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Nelson has an Americana. Cruz didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Nelson is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Nelson hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
