The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shango is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Johnson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Johnson's back!
I really don't envy Johnson right now.

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Shango is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Johnson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Shango's back instead.

Shango is trying to get back to his feet but Johnson has full control of the position and if anything, Shango has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Shango is trying to escape under a series of strikes and manages to escape from Johnson 's hooks.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
