Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, John Spiderman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Taylor Tibbs!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Atkins and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spiderman throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Spiderman lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Tibbs backs up against the ropes.
It looks like Taylor Tibbs has been cut.
Tibbs avoids a punch combination nicely.
Spiderman misses with a double jab.
Some wild striking there from Spiderman.
Tibbs shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Spiderman manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Tibbs drops back looking for a leg! Spiderman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Spiderman manages to kick Tibbs off! Tibbs jumps back into Spiderman's guard.
Tibbs postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Spiderman is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tibbs, into his guard.
Spiderman wants to stand and escape but instead Tibbs has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Spiderman working for a triangle but Tibbs defends it easily.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Tibbs is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Tibbs drops back, looking for a kneebar! Spiderman looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Spiderman looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Spiderman!
Spiderman is working to tighten is grip on Tibbs's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Tibbs has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Spiderman is really squeezing tight and eventually Tibbs passes out! Spiderman breaks the hold and jumps onto the ropes to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). John Spiderman!
