Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Otto Jokinen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marco Tammipuomi!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tammipuomi misses with a body shot
and Jokinen counters with a head kick that drops Tammipuomi to the mat! Tammipuomi scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Tammipuomi is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jokinen misses with a jab to the body
and Jokinen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Jokinen closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Jokinen misses with a kick to the body.
The crowd cheers as Jokinen lands an impressive looking overhand right. Tammipuomi doesn't seem phased though.
It looks like Marco Tammipuomi has been cut.
Tammipuomi throws a head kick but Jokinen moves out of range.
Otto Jokinen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tammipuomi lands a nice looking body shot.
Good leg kick by Jokinen there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Tammipuomi goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Nice takedown defense from Jokinen. No joy for Tammipuomi on that attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Tammipuomi has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Jokinen finds it's way round the side to connect with Tammipuomi's head.
Jokinen lands a big head kick that sends Tammipuomi to the canvas! Jokinen follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Otto Jokinen!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Otto Jokinen waved his t-shirt featuring Perkele!'s logo in front of the cameras.
