Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Kid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Hekkanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kid closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Hekkanen wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Kid could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Hekkanen is pushing Kid's head away, looking to escape. Kid manages to hold on to the position though.

Hekkanen is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Kid has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Hekkanen pushes Kid away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kid gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hekkanen misses with a wild combination.
Hekkanen feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Kid sprawling to the canvas! Kid rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Hekkanen finish him?!

Kid is rocked!

It looks like Jason Kid has been cut.
Hekkanen measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Kid! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
