The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aguilar tries to clinch but Xerxes is having none of it.
Aguilar misses with a head kick.
Xerxes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Aguilar is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Xerxes connects with a right hand. Aguilar shakes it off.
Left hook, right uppercut from Xerxes.

It looks like JD Aguilar has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Aguilar doesn't manage to clinch there - Xerxes circles away.
Xerxes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Wulfgaar Xerxes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Aguilar moves in looking to clinch but Xerxes pushes him off.

Aguilar gets tackled into the cage by Xerxes. Xerxes maintains the clinch.
Aguilar wants to get back to striking at distance but Xerxes won't allow it.
Xerxes lands a body shot in the clinch.
Aguilar looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Aguilar pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Xerxes feints with a jab and clips Aguilar right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Aguilar is sent crashing into the canvas and Xerxes leaps in for the kill! Aguilar tries to get to his feet but Xerxes is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Aguilar is in need of a savior and steps in!
