Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dorian Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bishop Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Payne has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Dorian Lee has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dorian Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bishop Payne!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Payne looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Lee moves into the clinch successfully.

Payne is fighting off a takedown attempt but Lee is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Payne to the mat. Payne regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lee pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Payne is keeping the position for now.
Lee is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dorian Lee wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Lee drives through and clinches with Payne against the cage.

Lee pulls guard effortlessly.
Lee wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Lee's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dorian Lee.
Lee pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Lee moves into the clinch.
Lee just leaning against Payne, taking a breather.

Lee drags the fight down to the ground.
Lee is trying to control the position but Payne postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lee is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Payne defends well.
Lee pulls Payne in close to his closed guard and prevents Payne from doing any damage or advancing position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Dorian Lee just wasn't active enough.

Lee closes the distance and clinches.

Lee has clasped his hands together around Payne's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Lee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Payne keeps working.

Lee tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lee has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Lee decides to take the fight back to the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Lee rushes Payne and presses him up against the cage.

Lee has picked Payne up - he's going for a ride! Lee dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Lee lands strikes from half guard.
Still in half guard, Lee seems content to control.
Lee wants to take a breather but Payne is having none of it.
Payne is breathing heavily.

Lee is controlling the pace.

Dorian Lee has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Lee moves into range and clinches up with Payne.
Lee tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Lee stalls.

Lee has hold of one of Payne's legs. Payne is fighting the takedown attempt but Lee gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Lee content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Lee engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Lee is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Lee wants to pass the guard but Payne is keeping the position.

Lee advances to half guard.
Lee is trying to control the action in half guard but Payne is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Lee seems to be looking for submissions.
Dorian Lee overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Lee drives through and clinches with Payne against the cage.
Lee wants to stall.

Lee pulls guard.
Lee keeping moving, preventing Payne from controlling successfully.
Lee pulls Payne in to control the position.

Lee rushes Payne and presses him up against the cage.
Payne takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Lee has had enough of the clinch but Payne keeps him there for the moment.
Lee is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Payne can do to turn this around?
Lee is looking to control Payne's arms but Payne gets an underhook and turns him. Now Lee has his back to the cage.
Lee tries to land knees in the clinch but Payne avoids the damage to the body.

Lee gets control of Payne's arms and successfully pulls guard. Lee will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Lee wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Lee scores a takedown into full mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lee controlling the position easily from mount.
Lee seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Payne for as long as he can get away with.

Lee is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Payne is surviving well by controlling Lee's body position as best he can.

Lee jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Payne manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Lee has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

We're going to have a standup here because Dorian Lee wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Lee throws a series of punches but Payne avoids them all with ease.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dorian Lee showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Lee has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
