The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grohl throws a lazy uppercut
and Grohl takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Requina buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Requina rushes Grohl and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Requina lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Requina throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Grohls head.
Requina makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Requina stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Requina turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Grohl is trying to get back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Requina scores with punches from side control.
Requina creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Grohl sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Grohl can do anything to dispel that myth.

Requina misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
