Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fidel Puno Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Black shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Black tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Puno Jr.
Puno Jr tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Black has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Black stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Black throws a series of punches but Puno Jr avoids them all with ease.
Black tries to clinch but Puno Jr moves out of range.
Black shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Puno Jr as he avoids it easily.

Black lands with a right to the head.
Black lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Puno Jr's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Black goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Puno Jr drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Black gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Black gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Black is trying to push Puno Jr away but Puno Jr has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Black misses with the head strike.
Puno Jr goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Puno Jr lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Black is trying to maintain a safe position but Puno Jr gets an underhook and turns Black into the cage.

Puno Jr pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Black decides to pull guard.
Black utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Puno Jr accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Puno Jr wants to control from the top but Black keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Puno Jr throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Black is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Puno Jr tries to free his leg and advance position but Black is retaining full guard.

Black pushes Puno Jr off and scrambles back to his feet.
Black walks into a straight right hand from Puno Jr.

That has opened up Mike Black's cut even more.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Puno Jr throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Black.
Black closes the distance and clinches up with Puno Jr, looking for a takedown. Black pushes Puno Jr against the cage but Puno Jr circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Fidel Puno Jr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Black.
Puno Jr misses with a leg kick

and Black counters with a single leg into guard. Puno Jr didn't expect that.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Puno Jr displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Black.
Puno Jr goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Puno Jr dips to his left and cracks Black with an uppercut!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Black is defended easily by Puno Jr.

Black shoots in but no luck this time.

Black is breathing heavily.
Puno Jr throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Black colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Puno Jr as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Black is left battered and dazed whilst Puno Jr and his camp cheer!
