Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alan Davies!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dire Strait!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Strait shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Davies is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Strait trying to pass the guard but Davies defending well.
Strait throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Strait wants to pass to mount but Davies is defending the position.
Strait not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Davies trying to hold on to Strait's head to control him but Strait postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Davies tries to get to full guard but Strait has control of the leg.
Davies is not content to let Strait control the position.
Davies wants to get back to his feet.
Strait landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Davies slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Strait throws an elbow that misses. Davies uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Strait's guard. Nice move by Davies!

Davies forces his way into half guard.
Davies working over Strait with some ground and pound. Strait looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Strait keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Strait tries to roll over but Davies keeps him under control.
Strait trying to get back to full guard but Davies takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Strait wants to hold on but Davies pushes him away.
Davies landing strikes from the mount.

Strait tries to lock up and control but Davies gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Davies trying to control but Strait is having none of it.
Strait wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Davies.
Davies looking to control but Strait is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Davies will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Davies lands a big elbow.
Strait flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Davies with good strikes from the mount here!
Strait tries to hold on but Davies postures up.

Strait bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Strait wants to pass the guard but Davies is keeping the position.
Davies is trying to keep Strait in close.
Davies on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Davies tries to get out of the position.
Davies will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Strait stopping the sweep attempt from Davies.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Strait in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Alan Davies will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


Davies swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Strait throws out a loose jab but Davies uses good head movement to avoid it.
Davies displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Strait throws out the jab.
A slow jab from Strait misses its intended target.
Davies tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Strait paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Strait throws a body punch but Davies moves out of range.
Strait misses with a wild body shot.
Strait smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Strait slips a jab from Davies.
Davies tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Davies staying out of range there.
The fight stays on the outside here - Davies looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Strait swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Davies.
Davies pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Davies misses with a takedown attempt
and Strait makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Strait moves away from the strike by Davies.
Nice shot by Strait.
Davies shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling Strait to counter with a crisp jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Strait connects with a single shot there.
Strait lands an overhand right.
Davies misses with a takedown
and Davies takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alan Davies. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Strait counters with a single leg into guard. Davies didn't expect that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Strait stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Davies swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Davies keeping moving, preventing Strait from controlling successfully.
Strait really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Davies. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Strait is looking to work some ground and pound but Davies has wrist control.
Strait lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Strait trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Davies manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Strait looking to hit a scissor sweep but Davies is one step ahead there.
Strait avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Strait looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Davies throwing strikes from guard but Strait blocks nicely.
Strait is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Davies being controlled here momentarily.
Strait's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Dire Strait has got the better of the ground game so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dire Strait showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Davies tries for a takedown but Strait circles away easily
letting Strait counter with a right hand.

Strait shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Strait with shots to the head and body - Davies looks very uncomfortable down there.
The referee warns Davies that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Strait lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Strait prevents Davies from getting the reversal.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Strait unloading with bombs!
Oh Davies is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Strait cracks Davies with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:01 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dire Strait!
A very excited looking Dire Strait made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
