Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paolo Santana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent Strope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the ring it seems that Paolo Santana has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Paolo Santana seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santana walks into a straight right hand from Strope.
Santana connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Strope throws a right hand that misses
and Santana makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Strope misses with an uppercut. Santana saw that one coming.
Strope bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A looping hook to the body misses from Santana. Strope does a little dance to reset his feet.
Strope uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Santana has time to react.
Santana plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Santana feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Strope's calf.
Strope throws a poor cross that misses
and Santana counters with a head kick. That will keep Strope thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

and Santana counters with a big head kick but Strope shrugs it off.
Santana throws a head kick that Strope semi-blocks.
Strope lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Strope.
Strope tries to bum rush Santana with a series of wild strikes but Santana uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Santana takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Strope misses with a series of wild punches.

Strope is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Santana.

Strope on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Strope walks into a stiff left hand from Santana.
Strope will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Strope rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Santana moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Santana throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Strope is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Santana quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Santana but it's paid off an Strope is forced to tap! Nice work by Santana.
