Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinya Alkofer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz comes to the cage accompanied by Look At Me Now. Nick Diaz has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz connects with a body shot that sends Alkofer's belly button to the back.

Alkofer moves into the clinch.

Alkofer is trying to trip Diaz. He has hold of a leg but Diaz is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Alkofer persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Diaz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Alkofer has control of an arm but Diaz manages to advance to Alkofer's back!

Alkofer is trying to get back to his feet but Diaz has full control of the position and if anything, Alkofer has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Diaz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Diaz goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Alkofer escapes and is now in half guard on top.

It looks like Alkofer might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Alkofer uses his free foot to push down on Diaz's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Diaz.

Alkofer manages to capitalize on a mistake by Diaz to take his back!
Alkofer slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
