PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kal Innella (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Du Pont (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kal Innella had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 207.4lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Kal Innella looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Du Pont fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Innella looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Innella pushes Du Pont up against the cage in a clinch.

Du Pont is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Innella can't fight it off and eventually Du Pont manages to take the fight to the floor. Innella looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The is referee keeping an eye on Du Pont - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Innella has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Du Pont is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Du Pont drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Innella gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Innella is desperately trying to improve his position but Du Pont has a good base and remains in mount.

Jean Du Pont has got the better of the ground game so far.
Du Pont wants to control the pace but Innella is squirming around nicely.
Innella knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Du Pont on the ground.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Du Pont postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Innella looks a forlorn figure.
