Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mario Braun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Decan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Decan.
Braun gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Decan counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Braun.
Decan throws a head kick but Braun moves out of range.
Decan swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Braun closes the distance and clinches.
Decan blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Braun trying to stall but Decan improves his position.
Braun tries to land knees in the clinch but Decan avoids the damage to the body.
Decan is trying to drag Braun to the mat but Braun just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Decan lands a takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Braun pushes Decan off and scrambles back to his feet.

Decan throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Braun shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Decan as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mario Braun. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Decan fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Braun has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Decan leaves Braun with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Braun dives in and grabs Decan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Decan pushes down on Braun's head and hops out.

and Decan counters with a good low kick that Braun was not able to check.

Braun changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Decan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Decan explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Decan wants to stand up but Braun is controlling him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Decan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Braun is controlling him.
Decan wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Braun manages to pass to side control.
Braun wants to control but Decan is keeping him busy.

Decan is trying to stand.

Decan has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Braun slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
