PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rock Lobster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ari Gold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Lobster might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Final Sacrifice. Gold is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by SuperHero, Janes Addiction . We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Lobster!

Lobster tries to clinch up but Gold circles away and keeps his distance.

Gold moves into range and clinches up with Lobster.
Lobster is pressed up against the cage. Gold has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lobster down to the mat. Lobster avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Gold feints and as Lobster raises his hands in defense, Gold changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lobster wants to stand and escape but Gold is having none of it.
Gold postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Gold throws an elbow that misses. Lobster uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Gold's guard. Nice move by Lobster!

Gold is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lobster is aware though and is defending well.

Lobster is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Gold has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Gold!

Gold throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lobster tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gold is in Lobster's guard.

Lobster goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Gold turns into him and now he's in Lobster's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gold chips away with some ground and pound.
Lobster not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rock Lobster has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Gold throws a strike but Lobster rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Lobster is refusing to be controlled, as Gold sits in half guard.
Gold throws a strike but Lobster avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Ari Gold is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gold throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lobster works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rock Lobster.
I think Gold has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
