The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holiday bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Holiday misses with a kick to the body.
Materla lands a body shot.
Materla swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Materla throws a body kick the misses
and Holiday counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
A solid leg kick lands there for Holiday.
Materla fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Good work by Materla as he checks the leg kick.
Holiday does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Materla dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Materla throws a lazy right hand but Holiday sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Holiday moves into the clinch.
Holiday swings wildly with an uppercut but Materla uses good head movement to avoid it.
Holiday misses with the head strike.

Holiday is trying to maintain a safe position but Materla gets an underhook and turns Holiday into the cage.

Materla has picked Holiday up - he's going for a ride! Materla dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Holiday is trying to stand up here but Materla is controlling him well.
Holiday keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Materla is looking for a kimura but Holiday is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Materla to get the leverage.
Holiday wants to control but Materla is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Materla is controlling the pace.
Holiday is trying to get back to full guard.

Materla thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
