And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Santiago!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Santiago rushes Woods and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Santiago throws an elbow that misses.
Woods tries for a takedown. No joy.

Santiago has Woods pressed against the cage.
Santiago is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Woods has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Santiago is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Woods.

Santiago is pressed up against the cage. Woods has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Santiago down to the mat. Santiago avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Woods has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Santiago is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Santiago ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Woods moves away.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Woods tries to pull guard but Santiago won't allow it.
Santiago putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Woods in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Woods is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Santiago is keeping busy.
Woods pushes off an throws an elbow but Santiago leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Santiago digs a right hand into Woods's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Woods's gas tank.
