Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mark Hominick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paul Stewart!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stewart avoids a kick to the body.
Hominick throws a sloppy head kick and Stewart moves out of range easily.

Stewart looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Stewart sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hominick defending well though.
Hominick is breathing heavily.
Stewart seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Hominick knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stewart on the ground.

Stewart is working for a submission of some sort.
Stewart content to control rather than advance.

Hominick wants to get back to his feet.
Stewart missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Stewart sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hominick defending well though.
Hominick on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Stewart is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Stewart tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hominick knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Hominick is defending against the submission attempts here by Stewart.
Stewart controlling the pace.

Hominick is trying to maintain the position but Stewart is very close to passing his half guard.
Stewart has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Stewart is trying for a kimura here. Hominick looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Stewart wins by kimura!
