Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bj Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Ferguson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evans comes to the cage accompanied by Pride FC. Bj Evans has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bj Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Ferguson!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans throws a push kick but Ferguson slaps the foot to one side.
Evans throws a sloppy head kick and Ferguson moves out of range easily.
Evans really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Ferguson scores with a takedown into Evans's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Ferguson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Ferguson shoots in and bounces Evans off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Ferguson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Ferguson is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Ferguson gets to his feet. Evans looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Ferguson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Evans sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ferguson somewhat.
Bj Evans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Evans tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ferguson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Evans looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Evans in particular looking to stall.
Evans is looking to advance position but Ferguson won't allow it.

Ferguson's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Evans seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Ferguson is holding on tight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Evans unloads with some shots from mount but Ferguson bucks and avoids them well.
Ferguson is just holding on here. Evans manages to take his back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ferguson wants to escape the position.

A close round but Josh Ferguson will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Evans shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ferguson's guard.
Ferguson wants to sweep here but Evans controlling him for the moment.
Ferguson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Evans's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Evans keeping moving, preventing Ferguson from controlling successfully.
Evans is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Ferguson wants to control from the top but Evans keeps moving.
Evans will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Josh Ferguson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Evans lands with a thumping leg kick.
Ferguson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Evans pinned against the cage. Evans gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ferguson is breathing heavily.
Evans misses with a series of wild punches.
Evans throws a nice inside leg kick.
Evans shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Evans tries a head kick but it misses.
Ferguson moves out of range of the body kick from Evans.
Ferguson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Evans tries to avoid it but Ferguson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Evans to the ground. Evans escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Evans misses with an attempted mid kick.
Bj Evans is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A nice inside leg kick there by Evans. That's going to slow Ferguson down.
Evans wants to slow Ferguson down by chopping away at his legs.
Evans throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Evans closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Ferguson wants to control but Evans is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Evans stands up and beckons Ferguson to join him on the feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ferguson shoots in but no luck this time.
Evans is looking to clinch but Ferguson is avoiding it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Ferguson dives in and scores a takedown into Evans's guard.

Evans is looking to sinch up a triangle. Ferguson throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Evans's body to avoid the submission. Evans has instead reached around Ferguson's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Evans arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
