PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bekah Montoya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chael Sonnen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montoya tries for a takedown but Sonnen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Sonnen throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Montoya tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sonnen is in Montoya's guard.
Montoya not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Sonnen drops back, looking for a kneebar! Montoya looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Montoya looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Montoya!

Sonnen has his hands clasped together around Montoya's back. He's all about the action.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A close round but Chael Sonnen will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Montoya tries to clinch up but Sonnen circles away and keeps his distance.

Sonnen feints and as Montoya raises his hands in defense, Sonnen changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Sonnen postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Montoya is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sonnen, into his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Montoya looks for a takedown but Sonnen sprawls well.
Montoya tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Sonnen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Montoya tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Sonnen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Montoya shoots in and drives through. Sonnen sprawls well.

Sonnen manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Montoya on his heels. He'll look to pass Montoya's guard now, I'm sure.

Montoya has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sonnen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Montoya is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sonnen is aware though and is defending well.

Sonnen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Sonnen drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Montoya manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sonnen has Montoya in his guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Sonnen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Montoya is fending him off so far but Sonnen persists. Nope, Montoya circles away and we're back to standing.

Sonnen decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Montoya, up you get!

Sonnen tries to lock up and control but Montoya gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

BOOM! Montoya connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Montoya swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Sonnen is now in Montoya's guard. A big mistake from Montoya there, giving up the dominant position!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Montoya wants to stand up but Sonnen is controlling him.

I would just about give that final round to Chael Sonnen.
I've got Sonnen winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
