Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rob Hamilton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rob Hamilton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Allen!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allen throws a right and a left that both miss.
Allen wants to clinch.
Hamilton tries to score a power double leg takedown but Allen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hamilton somewhat.
Allen shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Hamilton counters with a single leg into guard. Allen didn't expect that.
Hamilton looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Hamilton seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Allen for as long as he can get away with.
Allen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hamilton is one step ahead there.

Hamilton stands up from Allen's guard - Hamilton perhaps looking for a knockout.
Allen throws a quick inside leg kick.

Hamilton manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Allen on his heels. He'll look to pass Allen's guard now, I'm sure.
Hamilton keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Allen's head.

Hamilton is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Allen wants to control but Hamilton is having none of it.
Hamilton lands with some strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Allen is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Hamilton looking to control but Allen is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Hamilton lands a nice shot to the head.
Hamilton scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Allen?

Hamilton wants to finish this one by submission but Allen is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hamilton.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hamilton wants to finish this one by submission but Allen is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hamilton.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hamilton postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Allen looks a forlorn figure.

Allen shoots in for a double leg but Hamilton sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Hamilton gets a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hamilton seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Hamilton is looking to advance position but Allen won't allow it.
Allen pushes Hamilton off looking to stand but Hamilton dives back in and keeps control.

Hamilton decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Rob Hamilton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Allen doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hamilton counters with a stiff right hand.


It looks like James Allen has been cut.

Allen tries for a takedown but Hamilton circles away easily
and Hamilton counters with a right hand to the body.
Rob Hamilton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Allen.
Allen is breathing heavily.

Hamilton fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Allen to the ground. Hamilton is now in Allen's guard.
Hamilton forces his way into half guard.
Allen pushes Hamilton off but Hamilton dives into side control.
Hamilton is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Allen will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Hamilton has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Rob Hamilton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Hamilton is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Hamilton throws a sloppy head kick and Allen moves out of range easily.

Allen gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hamilton to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Allen had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hamilton defends it easily.
Hamilton seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Hamilton stops Allen from standing up.
Allen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Allen can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hamilton controls the pace.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Rob Hamilton just wasn't active enough.
Hamilton shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Allen as he avoids it easily.
Hamilton misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Allen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Allen shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hamilton sprawls well. Hamilton wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Allen gets slowly back to his feet.
Allen is looking to clinch.

Hamilton throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Allen's head.
Allen fails in his attempt to clinch.
Allen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hamilton's waist but Hamilton gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Allen off to one side.

Hamilton shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Hamilton is landing with some decent strikes but Allen is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Hamilton wants to take Allen's back but he can't do it this time.
Hamilton cracks Allen with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
