Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dean Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tetsuo Chiba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walker comes to the cage accompanied by Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb. Chiba is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Chop Suey. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tetsuo Chiba!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Eliza Hachem and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker throws a hook to the side of Chiba's head but Chiba sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Walker throws a head kick but Chiba moves out of range.
Walker misses with a double jab.
Chiba tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A big right from Chiba misses.
Dean Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chiba throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Walker counters with an inside leg kick.
Walker pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Chiba on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
A left lands for Walker.
Good standup being displayed there by Chiba as he connects with a hook.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Chiba looks to score with a jab to the body but Walker is just out of range.

Chiba moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Chiba drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Walker throws a shot to the body.
Walker darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Walker fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Chiba, pushing him back against the cage.
Walker keeps control of Chiba as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Walker misses with a hook from the clinch.

Walker lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Walker lands a hook to the side of the head.
Walker tries for a takedown but Chiba manages to get underhooks.

Walker misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Walker digs a right hand into Chiba's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Chiba's gas tank.
A right hook to the body lands for Walker.

Chiba's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Chiba is trying to break the clinch but Walker has him pressed against the cage.
Chiba tries to break free but Walker pushes him back against the cage.
Walker lands a left hand that snaps the head of Chiba backwards.
Walker manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

A short uppercut from Walker.
Walker lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Chiba can't break the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Walker lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Walker takes the fight into the clinch.
Chiba can't break the clinch.
Walker is trying to drag Chiba to the mat but Chiba just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Walker scores with a shot to the side of Chiba's head.

Walker swings wildly with an uppercut but Chiba uses good head movement to avoid it.
Walker lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Chiba backwards.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Walker.
Chiba working hard to break the clinch.
Walker has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Walker lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Walker lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Walker has Chiba pressed against the cage, preventing Chiba from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Walker lands a hook that snaps the head of Chiba backwards.


Chiba is rocked!
Walker misses with the head strike.
Chiba is still on wobbly legs! Can Walker finish him?
Walker misses with some punches.
Walker throws a head punch that misses.
Chiba seems to have recovered his senses.
Chiba can't break the clinch.
Walker is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Still in the clinch, Walker scores with a nice short uppercut.

A short body shot lands from Walker as the two fighters clinch.
Chiba is trying to push Walker away but Walker has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Chiba is looking to break free of the clinch but Walker has double underhooks.
Walker scores with a nice hook to the head.

Walker swings wildly with an uppercut but Chiba uses good head movement to avoid it.
A nice left hand lands by Walker.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Walker throws a monster overhand right that drops Chiba! Walker follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Dean Walker decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
