Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Damian Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse Pinsent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pinsent has chosen The Pot - Tool as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pinsent fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Pinsent shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Maia as he avoids it easily.

Damian Maia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesse Pinsent.

Maia drives through and clinches with Pinsent against the cage.
Pinsent drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Maia gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Maia is pressed up against the cage. Pinsent has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Maia down to the mat. Maia avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Maia feints and as Pinsent raises his hands in defense, Maia changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Maia avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Maia passes Pinsent's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Maia is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Pinsent is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Maia wants to get back to his feet.
Maia lands strikes from half guard.

Maia tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Pinsent.

Pinsent is in trouble now - Maia has advanced to mount!

Maia jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Pinsent manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Pinsent is looking for a sweep.
Maia in side control lands a decent elbow.

Maia wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pinsent, who protects the arm well.
Pinsent is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Maia off and has taken his back!

Pinsent working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maia rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Pinsent is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Maia!
Pinsent manages to capitalize on a mistake by Maia to take his back!

Pinsent is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Maia is trying to defend against the choke here but Pinsent has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Pinsent Tightens the hold and Maia taps out furiously! Pinsent displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
