The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mafi instigates a clinch.

Mafi pulls Zukov into guard.
Zukov throws a strike but Mafi rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Mafi throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Zukov keeping moving, preventing Mafi from controlling successfully.
Mafi sitting in guard here, content to control.
Mafi throwing strikes but missing.

Zukov working for submissions but it's allowed Mafi to get to half guard.
Zukov looks gassed!
Mafi passes the guard and advances to mount!
Zukov wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Mafi.

Mafi has hold of Zukov's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Zukov manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Mafi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Zukov is looking to escape.
Zukov tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Mafi trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Zukov avoids a series of strikes thrown by Mafi.

Mafi is standing up, even though he is in mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mafi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mafi tries to clinch up but Zukov circles away and keeps his distance.

Mafi sends Zukov crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Mafi is motioning to the referee to let Zukov up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

It looks like Boris Zukov has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Zukov looks up at the clock. Bad move! Mafi lands a right hand from hell, dropping Zukov. Mafi pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
