Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Floyd Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Otiv Smrah!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Kavanagh and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson throws a jab when Smrah was well out of range.
Johnson scores with a jab. Smrah acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Johnson misses with a takedown

and Smrah holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Smrah wants to break the clinch but can't.
Johnson avoids the elbow strike from Smrah, against the cage.

Smrah ducks right into an uppercut from Johnson.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Johnson swats away the attempt to clinch by Smrah.
Johnson throws a good cross that connects.
Smrah looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Floyd Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smrah tries to bum rush Johnson with a series of wild strikes but Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Sloppy strikes from Smrah. Those never looked like landing.

Johnson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Johnson is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Johnson wants to free his trapped foot but Smrah is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Johnson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Smrah with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Johnson looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Johnson winds up and cracks Smrah with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Smrah wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Johnson connects with a nice short shot to Smrah's temple.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Smrah is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Johnson pulls his head out easily.
Smrah is trying to get back to full guard.
Johnson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Smrah looks gassed!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Johnson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Johnson works his foot free and advances to mount.

Johnson cracks Smrah with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Floyd Johnson!
