Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zeburdiah Zappatista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Block Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zappatista comes to the cage accompanied by Kanye West - Runaway. Liddell is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Slayer - Raining Blood. Block Liddell told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zeburdiah Zappatista!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Block Liddell!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Zappatista.
Liddell pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Zappatista chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Liddell can pounce on him.
Liddell throws a leg kick which misses Zappatista's front leg but catches the back leg as Zappatista tries to avoid it.
Zappatista defending well as Liddell loads up on a big left hand.
Liddell displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Zappatista throws out the jab.
Zappatista shoots in but no luck this time.
Some bone on bone action there as Zappatista checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Zappatista throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Liddell was covering up waiting for the punch and Zappatista finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Block Liddell was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Liddell works over Zappatista's head and body with a nice combination.
Zappatista takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Zappatista uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Liddell.
Liddell shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Zappatista eats them both and turns towards Liddell to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Zappatista is trying to control the action in half guard but Liddell is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Zeburdiah Zappatista will probably get the nod.

Zappatista walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Block Liddell seems to be getting the better of the standup.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Liddell.
Liddell slaps away a takedown attempt from Zappatista, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zeburdiah Zappatista. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Zappatista looks to land a combination but Liddell avoids it well.
Zappatista tries to score a power double leg takedown but Liddell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Zappatista somewhat.

Zappatista closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Liddell did well to prevent Zappatista getting side control.

Block Liddell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Zappatista's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

The fighters circling - Zappatista throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Liddell avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Liddell bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Zappatista's head backwards.


Zappatista is rocked!
Liddell closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Zappatista! Liddell dives in looking to finish! Zappatista is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Block Liddell!
A relieved looking Block Liddell thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
