Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mark Marx (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiroshimo Hiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hiro comes into a darkened arena with his song building. My Hero kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Hiroshimo Hiro enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 8 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Marx!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hiroshimo Hiro!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hiro moves out of range as Marx throws a body kick.
Marx shoots in for a takedown but Hiro shows good takedown defense.
Hiro moves in looking to clinch but Marx pushes him off.
Hiro stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Marx.
Hiro misses with the combination.
Hiro takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Marx throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hiro's waist but Hiro gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Marx off to one side.
Hiro misses with a two punch combination.
Marx misses with a head kick.
A big right from Hiro misses.

Marx chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Marx throws a hook but Hiro blocks it.
Some wild striking there from Hiro.
Marx loads up on a big right hand but Hiro slips the punch.
Marx throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Hiro throws a right and a left that both miss.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Marx.

Hiro looks to score with a jab to the body but Marx is just out of range.

Hiro will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hiro throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Marx.
Marx throws a leg kick which misses Hiro's front leg but catches the back leg as Hiro tries to avoid it.
Hiro displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Marx throws out the jab.

Marx fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hiro to the ground. Marx is now in Hiro's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hiro has control of Marx's left arm, preventing Marx from doing any damage.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Marx's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Marx wants to control from the top but Hiro keeps moving.

Marx slips nicely into half guard.
Hiro is looking for a sweep. Marx is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hiro is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Marx lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hiro keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Marx not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Marx thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hiro's head.
Marx wants to take a breather but Hiro is having none of it.
Hiro wants to control but Marx is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Marx throws a right hand that Hiro ducks under and follows up with a left that Hiro also avoids with ease.

Marx shoots in and bounces Hiro off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Hiro seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Marx in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Marx stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hiro swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mark Marx overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Marx throws a wild body kick that Hiro sees coming a mile off.
Hiro throws a body punch but Marx moves out of range.
Marx uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hiro.
Hiro takes one to the side of the head.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Marx.
Hiro fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Marx manages to avoid it.
Marx takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Marx buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hiro. Marx does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Marx, right into the meat.
Marx bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Marx throws a sloppy head kick and Hiro moves out of range easily.
Hiro looks to score with a jab to the body but Marx is just out of range.

Hiro lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Marx at a distance.
Hiro tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Marx was well out of range. Poor timing from Hiro.

Hiro swings for the body but Marx moves out of range.
Hiro is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Marx rather than just go for the knockout.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Marx.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hiro misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hiro takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Hiro takes a swing at Marx's ribcage but misses.
Marx throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hiro's waist but Hiro gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Marx off to one side.
Marx shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hiro sprawls well. Hiro wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Marx gets slowly back to his feet.
Hiro's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Hiroshimo Hiro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hiro throws a series of punches but Marx avoids them all with ease.

Marx moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Hiro wants to clinch up but Marx keeps it at a distance.
Marx shoots in for a takedown but Hiro shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Marx. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hiro tries to move into range but Marx moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Marx throws a half hearted mid kick.
Hiro throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Marx stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Hiro bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Marx throws a sloppy head kick and Hiro moves out of range easily.
Marx lands a nice looking body kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hiro takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Hiro will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Marx goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Hiro tries to bum rush Marx with a series of wild strikes but Marx uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Hiro throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Marx uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hiro.
Hiro just misses with a punch to the body.

Hiroshimo Hiro is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Marx shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Marx showed some decent athleticism there.
Hiro takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Marx in particular looking to stall.
Mark Marx is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The referee warns Hiro that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Hiro is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Hiro tries to reverse the position but Marx maintains control.

Mark Marx showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Marx has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Mark Marx spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a big arrogant.
