Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tony Croix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shaw has chosen Body Head Bangerz - Can't Be Touched as his entrance music. Don Shaw acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tony Croix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Don Shaw!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw slips a jab and a cross from Croix.
Croix pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Croix drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Shaw throws a right and a left that both miss.

Shaw rushes Croix and presses him up against the cage.
Croix tries to break free but Shaw pushes him back against the cage.

Shaw escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shaw shoots in looking for a takedown. Croix tries to sprawl out of it but Shaw keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Croix manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Shaw fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Croix manages to avoid it.
Croix cracks a nice hook into Shaw's ribs.
Shaw tries to close the distance and clinch but Croix swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Croix misses with a double jab.
Croix rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Shaw moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Good shot there by Croix.
Croix just misses with a punch to the body.

Shaw throws the left hand but Croix avoids the punch easily.
Donk. Shaw catches Croix right on the button with a cross.
Shaw stuns Croix with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Croix swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Croix thows a body shot but no joy.
Shaw slips a jab from Croix.
Croix throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Shaw.

and Shaw counters with a nice leg kick.
Croix misses with a hook. Shaw ducked under it nicely.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Croix seems a little lost for a moment, as Shaw dominates the positioning.
Shaw throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Croix regains half guard, as Shaw was trying to land strikes.

Shaw is keen to just control but Croix is a slippery customer.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Shaw gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Croix's corner calls for a 1-2. Croix obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Croix rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Shaw moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Shaw shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Croix is trying to defend but Shaw finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Shaw looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Croix with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Shaw is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Croix defends it well.

Shaw wants to control but Croix is keeping him busy.

Shaw closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Croix did well to prevent Shaw getting side control.
Shaw has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Shaw is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Croix doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Shaw.

You get the feeling that Croix really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Shaw might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Croix kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Don Shaw showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Shaw's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Croix connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Shaw scrambles back to his feet.
Don Shaw seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Croix throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Croix looks to land a right hand but Shaw moved out of range.

Shaw shoots in and bounces Croix off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Shaw forces his way into half guard.

Shaw uses his free foot to push down on Croix's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Croix.

Well Shaw has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
