Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ching Gui!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jan Kowalsky!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gui throws a nice inside leg kick.
Gui thuds his shin into the meat of Kowalsky's side.
Nice shot lands for Gui.
Gui lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Kowalsky drives through and clinches with Gui against the cage.
Kowalsky goes for a takedown attempt but Gui pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Gui chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Kowalsky closes the distance and clinches.
Gui misses with a hook from the clinch.
Gui stalling in the clinch but Kowalsky improves position.
Kowalsky blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Gui lands on the inside with an uppercut.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Kowalsky.

Gui escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Good standup being displayed there by Gui as he connects with a hook.
Kowalsky tries for a takedown but Gui circles away easily
and Gui counters with a nice leg kick.

Gui misses with a double jab.

Gui clinches up against the cage.
Gui prevents a takedown attempt there.
Ching Gui has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jan Kowalsky.
A left hand lands to the body for Gui.
Kowalsky is looking for a takedown.

Kowalsky drags the fight down to the ground.

Kowalsky pushes Gui off and scrambles back to his feet.
Gui fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kowalsky manages to avoid it.
Gui throws a leg kick which misses Kowalsky's front leg but catches the back leg as Kowalsky tries to avoid it.
Gui slaps away a takedown attempt from Kowalsky, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Kowalsky gets a double leg takedown into Gui's guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Gui is working an open guard so Kowalsky takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Gui stuffs the takedown attempt from Kowalsky. Kowalsky gets slowly back to his feet.
Gui bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Kowalsky misses with a body shot
and Gui makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Gui connects with a leg kick. Kowalsky looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Gui fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kowalsky, pushing him back against the cage.
Gui lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Kowalsky backwards.

Kowalsky blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Kowalsky tries to break the clinch but Gui is controlling the position.
Gui blocks an elbow strike.
Gui keeps control of Kowalsky as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Gui tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Gui fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Gui stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Gui misses with some punches.
Gui scores with a hook to the body.
Kowalsky wants a takedown.
Still in the clinch, Gui scores with a nice short uppercut.

Gui gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kowalsky.

Kowalsky has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Gui avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Gui makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Gui lands a left hand that snaps the head of Kowalsky backwards.

Gui tries to break free but Kowalsky pushes him back against the cage.
The referee is keeping an eye on Gui - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Kowalsky jumps guard but Gui stands there with Kowalsky around his waist. Kowalsky gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Gui struggles to land a body shot inside as Kowalsky controls his hands.

Gui manages to break the clinch.
Gui stuffs the takedown.
Kowalsky has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gui has closed the distance and engaged Kowalsky in a clinch.
Gui lands a left hand.
Gui gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kowalsky.
Gui lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kowalsky shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gui defends it nicely.

Kowalsky clinches up with Gui and pushes him back against the cage.
Gui wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kowalsky has him pressed against the cage.
Gui blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Kowalsky is trying hard to land a takedown here. Gui sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Kowalsky drops his hands momentarily and Gui takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Gui lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kowalsky is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Gui can't fight it off and eventually Kowalsky manages to take the fight to the floor. Gui looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Kowalsky wants to control from the top but Gui keeps moving.

Gui working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kowalsky doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kowalsky manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Gui has Kowalsky pulled in close to control his posture.
Kowalsky controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Gui wants to stand but Kowalsky is controlling the position.
Kowalsky slips nicely into half guard.
Gui wants to improve his position but Kowalsky is controlling well.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kowalsky wants to take a breather but Gui is having none of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gui on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Gui punishes Kowalsky's body with a nice straight punch.
Kowalsky will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Gui lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Kowalsky fails with the takedown.
Gui tries to close the distance and clinch but Kowalsky swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Jan Kowalsky has got the better of the ground game so far.

Gui is sitting in close to Kowalsky's body. Kowalsky has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Gui is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Gui is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Kowalsky.
