Hiles throws a nice looking combination but Madeiros bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Madeiros shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hiles's guard.

Madeiros drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Madeiros jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Madeiros postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hiles is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Madeiros, into his guard.

Madeiros escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hiles gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hiles would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hiles wants to stand and escape but instead Madeiros has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Madeiros is pushing down on Hiles's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hiles is fighting to maintain full guard but Madeiros has managed to sneak the leg through.
