Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fail Sonnen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Ooka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Fail Sonnen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paul Ooka!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sonnen chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ooka can pounce on him.
Sonnen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ooka will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Ooka avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Sonnen throws a head kick but Ooka moves out of range.
Sonnen lands the left hand.
Ooka lands with an uppercut that bounces Sonnen off the cage and back into range.
Ooka misses with a looping left.
Ooka throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sonnen jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Sonnen drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Sonnen jabs Ooka right on the nose. Ooka blinks but takes it well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sonnen misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ooka. Sonnen does a little dance to reset his feet.

Ooka fails to land with a series of punches.

Ooka closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sonnen did well to prevent Ooka getting side control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Ooka is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Ooka is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ooka is trying to control the action in half guard but Sonnen is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Ooka is looking for a kimura but Sonnen is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ooka to get the leverage.

Sonnen is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ooka pulls his head out easily.

Sonnen tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Ooka has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Good leg kick by Ooka there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Sonnen is pressed up against the cage. Ooka has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sonnen down to the mat. Sonnen avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Ooka lands a nice shot to the body.
Ooka fails with the takedown.
Ooka misses with a few strikes there.
Ooka throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sonnen's waist but Sonnen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ooka off to one side.
Fail Sonnen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Ooka.
Sonnen just misses with a punch to the body.

Sonnen's corner calls for a 1-2. Sonnen obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Paul Ooka is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sonnen looks to throw the jab but Ooka is out of range.
Ooka ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

and Ooka makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Sonnen looks to score with a jab to the body but Ooka is just out of range.

Sonnen throws a hook but Ooka blocks it.
Ooka shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sonnen sprawls well. Sonnen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ooka gets slowly back to his feet.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Ooka fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sonnen, pushing him back against the cage.
Sonnen misses with a punch to the body.
Ooka drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Sonnen gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Ooka wants to take the fight to the mat but Sonnen manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Sonnen effectively controlling the action here.
Sonnen lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ooka prevents a body shot from Sonnen.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Ooka showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Sonnen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Ooka closes the distance and clinches up with Sonnen, looking for a takedown. Ooka pushes Sonnen against the cage but Sonnen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ooka takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Sonnen dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Sonnen shoots in looking for a takedown but Ooka manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sonnen's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Paul Ooka seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Ooka lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sonnen at a distance.

Ooka scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sonnen steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Ooka. That one must have hurt.

Paul Ooka comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Ooka winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
