The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lannister scores with a head kick. Bird tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Lannister clinches.
Lannister turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Bird wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Lannister tries for a kimura but Bird is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lannister is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bird's half guard.
Bird pushes Lannister off but Lannister dives into side control.
Lannister thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Lannister seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bird for as long as he can get away with.
Lannister's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Lannister wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bird, who protects the arm well.
Bird seems a little lost for a moment, as Lannister dominates the positioning.
Lannister tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lannister has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Lannister closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bird to the mat! Bird manages to get full guard.
Lannister drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bird looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bird looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bird!
Lannister is looking for a sweep.
Lannister is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Bird's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Lannister wants to improve his position but Bird is controlling well.
Lannister kicks off Bird and gets to his feet.
Tyrion Lannister seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lannister bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Lannister decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Lannister scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Lannister shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Lannister was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Lannister seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Bird is holding on tight.

Bird should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lannister cracks Bird with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Lannister's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Lannister connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Lannister closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Bird wants to get back to his feet but Lannister drags him back down.
Lannister will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Lannister is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bird can do to turn this around?
Bird takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

and Lannister counters with a thumping low kick.

Lannister has Bird pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Lannister pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Bird tumbling to the mat - Lannister dives into Bird's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
