The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benoit throws a hook but Fendsor avoids it easily.
Fendsor swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Fendsor uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Benoit.
Fendsor listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Fendsor throws a shot from downtown. Benoit moves away and avoids it.
Benoit moves out of range of the strikes.

and Fendsor counters with a low kick, right behind Benoit 's knee.
Fendsor takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Benoit tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Fendsor is able to avoid easily.

and Benoit counters with a left and a right that stings Fendsor.
Sean Benoit is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Fendsor shoots in for a takedown but Benoit shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Benoit scores with a one two! Fendsor had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Fendsor checks a leg kick.
Fendsor shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Benoit as he avoids it easily.
Fendsor takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Benoit looks to clinch
and Fendsor connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Benoit keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Benoit looks to score with a jab to the body but Fendsor is just out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Barich Fendsor will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Fendsor needs to keep his hands up - Benoit had a free shot at his head there.
Fendsor takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Fendsor is rocked!

Fendsor tries a low kick but Benoit avoids it.
Fendsor throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Benoit throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Benoit misses with a looping right.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Benoit crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Fendsor - the referee stops the clock and Benoit gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Fendsor. Benoit manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Fendsor tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Benoit manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Oh Fendsor is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Benoit fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Fendsor has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Fendsor seems to have got his legs back now.
Fendsor shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Benoit as he jumps to the side.

Benoit lunges at Fendsor with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Fendsor's hand.

Benoit's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Fendsor takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Benoit is bucking up trying to escape but Fendsor cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

A lull in the action here as Fendsor stalls from top position.
Benoit is working to avoid the ground and pound but Fendsor connects with a decent elbow.
