Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Check Mong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Shakespeare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Check Mong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, William Shakespeare!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Daniel Bishop and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shakespeare throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Mong shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shakespeare as he avoids it easily.
Mong doesn't manage to clinch there - Shakespeare circles away.

Mong gets a clinch.

Shakespeare pulls guard successfully.
Mong slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Shakespeare pushes Mong off and scrambles back to his feet.
Mong misses with a takedown attempt - Shakespeare sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Shakespeare lands a nice shot that snaps Mong's head back.

Shakespeare ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Shakespeare tries to clinch but Mong moves away

and Mong counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Mong stops Shakespeare from getting back to his feet.
Mong passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Shakespeare!

Mong lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Shakespeare is trying desperately to improve position.
Shakespeare is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Mong working the ground and pound effectively.

Mong looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Mong thowing shots but they're missing.
Mong trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Mong prevents Shakespeare from getting the reversal.

Mong cracks Shakespeare with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Shakespeare's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Mong looking to control but Shakespeare is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Shakespeare is wriggling around trying to escape.
Mong scoring with strikes but Shakespeare is staying in there.

Shakespeare sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Mong stops Shakespeare from getting back to his feet.
Shakespeare wants to get back to full guard.
Mong tries to pass to full mount but Shakespeare defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shakespeare is not content to let Mong control the position.
Shakespeare is looking to improve his position.
Shakespeare is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Mong scores with a couple of nice shots.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Mong shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Check Mong. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mong circles away from the clinch attempt.
Shakespeare swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Shakespeare lands a jab to the nose.
Shakespeare fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Mong.
Mong fails with the takedown.

Shakespeare clinches up with Mong and pushes him back against the cage.
Mong on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Mong pulls guard successfully.
Shakespeare stopping the sweep attempt from Mong.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Check Mong will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Shakespeare wants to clinch

and Mong holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Shakespeare wants to break the clinch but can't.

Shakespeare escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
William Shakespeare seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mong will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Mong scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Mong has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Mong swings around for an armbar but Shakespeare sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Mong's guard.
Mong doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mong keeping moving, preventing Shakespeare from controlling successfully.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mong is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Shakespeare looking to sit in guard and control but Mong gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Shakespeare will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Mong has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Shakespeare is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mong.

Mong gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Mong wants to sweep but no luck.

Mong is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Shakespeare looks like he's trying to stand up.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mong lands a nice short elbow.
Mong is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Shakespeare is trying to stand.
Mong lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Shakespeare on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Mong seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Mong passes to full mount!

Check Mong overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Mong lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Shakespeare hang on?

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mong postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Shakespeare looks a forlorn figure.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Mong closes the distance looking for a takedown. Shakespeare stuffs it but Mong still has hold of him. Mong picks Shakespeare up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Mong slams Shakespeare to the floor and that's really hurt Shakespeare - he doesn't know where he is! Mong throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Check Mong!
