PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnnie Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Caschera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walker comes to the cage accompanied by Tap you out. The crowd seem to be enjoying Caschera's choice of entrance music: Crimson King by Demons & Wizards limited edition. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Johnnie Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Caschera!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker fails with a takedown attempt.
Caschera tries to clinch there but Walker circles away.
Caschera stuffs the takedown attempt from Walker. Walker gets slowly back to his feet.

Walker drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Walker trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Caschera trying to control the position.

Caschera working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Walker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Walker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Walker prevents Caschera from getting back to his feet.

Walker with a flurry of punches that miss.

Walker is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Caschera is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Caschera has escaped and now he's on top!
Caschera chips away with some ground and pound.
Caschera controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Walker is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Caschera defends well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Caschera thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Caschera got a little sloppy there for a moment and Walker has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Caschera has managed to get both his arms back between Walker's legs - danger averted.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Caschera avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Caschera is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Walker is controlling him.
Walker trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Walker pushing down on Caschera's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Caschera is defending against the submission attempts here by Walker.
Caschera is looking to escape.

Caschera looks like he's trying to stand up.

Walker is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Walker looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Caschera is trying to stand up here but Walker is controlling him well.

Walker is working for a kimura but Caschera is defending it quite comfortably.

Walker seems to be working for a kimura but Caschera defends the submission attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Walker works his foot free and advances to mount.
You get the feeling that Caschera really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Walker is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Caschera is surviving well by controlling Walker's body position as best he can.

Walker is working for a guillotine from mount but Caschera frees his head quite easily.

Walker looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Caschera manages to regain half guard. Good work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Walker prevents Caschera from standing back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnnie Walker dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Walker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Caschera was well out of range. Poor timing from Walker.
Walker with a lazy takedown attempt
and Caschera counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Walker shoots in but no luck this time.
Max Caschera is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Caschera pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Caschera misses with a straight right.
A big left from Caschera misses.

Caschera gets the takedown into side control.
Walker manages to work his way to half guard, despite Caschera's best efforts.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Caschera working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Caschera is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Walker is just riding it out for now. Caschera eventually gives up the hold.

Caschera maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Walker could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Caschera has cracked it and Walker is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Caschera!
