The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patterson connects with a high kick.

It looks like Simo Silmu has been cut.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Patterson misses with a knee to the head.
Silmu tries to break free but Patterson pushes him back against the ropes.
Silmu takes a knee right on the jaw!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Patterson tries to land knees in the clinch but Silmu avoids the damage to the body.
Patterson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Silmu's efforts to push away.
Patterson misses with a knee strike.
Silmu has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Patterson connects with a knee to the head.
Silmu has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Patterson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Silmu goes for a takedown attempt but Patterson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Silmu is breathing heavily.
Patterson tries to clinch but Silmu moves out of range.
Patterson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
That kick from Patterson tenderised Silmu's leg. Silmu is trying to keep his angry face on.
Patterson plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Silmu to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Silmu just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!
