And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mikio Okita!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Sam Margolis and Chris Edwards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Okita. Cullen does a little dance to reset his feet.
Cullen misses the shot to the body.
Keat Cullen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cullen moves out of range of the strikes.
Cullen tries to clinch there but Okita circles away.
Cullen lands with an uppercut that bounces Okita off the cage and back into range.
Cullen shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Okita tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cullen was well out of range. Poor timing from Okita.
Cullen misses with a straight left.

Okita throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Cullen sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Cullen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Okita closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cullen circles away.
Keat Cullen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mikio Okita.
Cullen moves away from the strike by Okita.
Okita shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cullen sprawls well. Cullen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Okita gets slowly back to his feet.
Okita takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Okita ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cullen moves away.

Cullen tries to land a leg kick but Okita saw it coming and moves away.

Cullen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Okita.

Okita dives in and scores a takedown into Cullen's guard.
Okita wants to control from the top but Cullen keeps moving.
Cullen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Okita on the ground.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Okita tries to free his leg and advance position but Cullen is retaining full guard.
Okita slips nicely into half guard.
Okita works his foot free and advances to mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Okita prevents Cullen from getting the reversal.

A close round but Mikio Okita will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Okita shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cullen pinned against the cage. Cullen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Cullen fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Okita looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Cullen throws a leg kick but Okita checks it.
Keat Cullen is winning the standup battle so far.
Cullen plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Okita fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Cullen with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Okita shoots in for a double leg but Cullen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Keat Cullen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mikio Okita.
Cullen fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Okita.

Cullen ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
The fighters circling - Cullen throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Okita looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Cullen!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cullen is squirming around, avoiding Okita's attempts to control the action.
BOOM! Okita connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Okita can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cullen is looking to escape.
Okita prevents Cullen from getting the reversal.

Okita is persistently looking for the submission but Cullen is defending it well.
Okita doesn't have the hooks in and Cullen manages to turn into his guard.
Okita is trying to control the position but Cullen postures up.
Cullen wants to get up but he can't break Okita's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Okita is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Okita is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

After the fight, Mikio Okita was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
