The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnariano looks to land a combination but Oars avoids it well.
Brocky Lesnariano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Oars makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Lesnariano shoots for a takedown but Oars saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Lesnariano displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Oars throws out the jab.
Lesnariano dives in and grabs Oars's left leg, looking for a takedown. Oars pushes down on Lesnariano's head and hops out.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Oars checks a leg kick.

Oars is looking to clinch but Lesnariano is avoiding it.

Oars lands a really nice looking cross but Lesnariano seems unphased.
Oars stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Oars tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Lesnariano is able to avoid easily.
Oars moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Lesnariano goes down! Can Oars finish him!?

Oars working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Lesnariano is still in real trouble! Can Oars finish him?
Lesnariano has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Oars can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Lesnariano seems to have recovered his senses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Oars seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Oars tries to free his leg and advance position but Lesnariano is retaining full guard.

Lesnariano is looking for a sweep. Oars is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Oars in particular looking to stall.
Lesnariano wants to improve his position but Oars is controlling well.

Oars trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Oars tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lesnariano knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Oars is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The fighters are battling for position here. Lesnariano manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Oars wants to control from the top but Lesnariano keeps moving.
Oars stays in close to Lesnariano's body and controls the position.
We're going to have a standup here because Garland Oars wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Lesnariano tries to clinch up but Oars circles away and keeps his distance.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lesnariano is trying desperately to land a takedown but Oars is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Lesnariano.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Oars is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Oars is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Lesnariano will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Oars tries to move to mount but Lesnariano blocks the move with his legs.

Oars is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Lesnariano has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Oars has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Lesnariano taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Oars doesn't care though - he's delighted!
